build the foundation of a lasting journaling practice
Teaching Artist
Nature journaling and sketching foster my affection and understanding of the world. My practice integrates painting, ecology, inquiry, and personal experience through observation and discovery. I was a 2025 Artist in Residence at Big Bend National Park, and my work has been shown in Santa Fe galleries including Sun and Dust. I also teach plein-air sketchbook workshops with park rangers through Santa Fe Open Space, where we hike, paint, and learn from the landscapes that hold us.
As a teacher, I want everyone I work with to come away with a deeper respect for the places we visit together. I teach painting and journaling to all ages, using simple exercises that balance the logic of color mixing and observation with creative exploration. My goal is to demystify painting, build the foundation for a lasting journaling practice, and inspire a personal relationship with the environment we share.
